  • Improved learning.

What do I need to do to start a
Therapy Program at our Facility?

Access your facility : Where do you want therapy teams to visit? Where will visiting teams have the most impact? What level of staff involvement can you provide?
Educate administration and staff : Let everyone know therapy teams will be visiting and where they will be in the facility. Let them know who the contact person is if there is a problem.

Determine Internal Protocols :

  • Who will be the point person for your therapy team volunteers?
  • What site-specific orientation will they need?
  • What area of the grounds can animals use for breaks?
  • Are there any additional requirements for your facility, such as completing a background check or additional health screenings you need to communicate to volunteers?
  • Make sure your facility signs off on the visits.
  • How will you determine who will receive visits?
  • How will you screen clients for concerns such as allergies or fear of dogs?
  • Where will visits occur?
  • How often do you want visits to occur?
  • How many teams do you want to visit at once?
  • What do you want the teams to do on their visits?

Fill out our Therapy Visit Request form to give us as much information as you can about your therapy visit.
