Temperament Testing

Determines the personality of a dog or puppy. We use a puppy test for dogs under 5 months and an adult temperament test for dogs over 5 months. We use the Volhard Temperament Testing Evaluation.

If the dog does not attempt to be friendly, is agitated, has a stiff stance, or is hyperactive, we will not attempt to evaluate the dog, and it will not be accepted into our program.

Example :

Type of Dog : Responsive, adaptable, bonds well to humans would be a good first-time dog owner. This is the dog we are looking for that would fit into our service dog, therapy dog, or animal-assisted therapy dog program.

Type of Dog : Independent or stubborn personality would be a great outdoors dog.

Type of Dog : Nervous, Fearful, Timid, Unpredictable would not be a dog we would want to place in any home knowingly.

Type of Dog : Dominant and Aggressive, Unpredictable would not be a dog we would want to place in any home.
